Ashva Learning has appointed Sandhya Nair as chief executive officer, effective 22 May 2026. Nair joins from the consumer lending platform Rupaya, where she was chief business officer for seven years.
She takes over a company that has reduced its workforce by roughly forty per cent over two years and is rebuilding around a smaller school-partnership business. The board defended the appointment of a candidate from outside education on the grounds that the company’s problem was unit economics rather than pedagogy.
Nair’s first structural decision was to end the direct-to-consumer tutoring line, which accounted for a substantial share of revenue and the majority of losses. She has committed to a single public operating target — contribution-positive by the end of the 2027 financial year — and has declined to guide on anything else.
