Girija Industries has expanded Vikram Shetty’s remit to chief human resources and safety officer with effect from 19 March 2026, bringing group safety under the people function across eleven plants.
Shetty has led HR at the auto-components manufacturer since 2021 and negotiated a five-year wage settlement across seven unionised plants in 2025 without a stoppage. He has since been rebuilding the company’s apprentice pipeline after a decade of contract-labour dependence.
He has spent his entire career in manufacturing HR, beginning as a plant personnel officer in 2002, and argues that corporate HR transformation fails in industrial businesses because it is designed for the head office and merely announced to everyone else.
