Vaidya Health Networks has promoted Arjun Bhatia to chief operating officer, effective 4 August 2026. Bhatia has run the group’s northern cluster since 2020 and takes responsibility for operations across fourteen hospitals and the group’s diagnostics network.
Bhatia trained as a physician and practised for six years before moving into administration. During his time running the north cluster he removed average length of stay from the regional scorecard, arguing that it rewarded discharging patients who should have stayed, and replaced it with a readmission-adjusted measure that has since been adopted group-wide.
The group has committed to adding approximately 900 beds over three years. Bhatia has said the binding constraint is nursing recruitment rather than capital, noting that a building can be commissioned in eighteen months and cannot be staffed in the same period.
