Tamarind Foods has named Devang Trivedi chief marketing officer with effect from 13 August 2026. Trivedi was most recently chief executive officer of Suvarna Consumer Brands, a packaged-foods business he led for three years, and began his career at Tamarind as a brand manager between 2009 and 2018.
The move is a step back from a general management role into a functional one, which Trivedi has publicly described as a deliberate trade of scope for scale. Tamarind’s portfolio spans nineteen brands and reaches an order of magnitude more households than his previous company.
He inherits a portfolio review already in progress: the company said in its most recent annual report that six brands were under evaluation for divestment or discontinuation. Trivedi built his reputation on price-pack architecture in low-unit-price categories and has argued that quick commerce is eroding the pack-price ladder that Indian packaged goods companies spent three decades constructing.
