Sentinel General Insurance has expanded Aisha Rahman’s remit to group chief information officer with effect from 1 August 2026, adding the data and analytics function to her existing responsibility for core platforms.
Rahman is four years into a core policy-administration replacement originally scoped at three. She has published an internal timeline attributing most of the overrun to data migration from a system built in the 1990s, and the programme now runs in parallel across two motor product lines.
She has argued that Indian general insurers systematically underfund claims technology relative to distribution technology, because distribution improvements appear within a quarter and claims improvements appear in a loss ratio three years later.
